Islam In India

satyameva jayate nānṛtaṁ, satyena panthā vitato devayānaḥ, yenākramantyṛṣayo hyāptakāmā, yatra tat satyasya paramaṁ nidhānam - Mundaka Upanishad 3.1.6

Truth alone triumphs; not falsehood. Through truth the divine path is spread out by which the sages whose desires have been completely fulfilled, reach where that supreme treasure of Truth resides.

Wahi The supernatural Basis of Islam

Author: Dr Koenraad Elst

Extract:-
In discussing Islam, most non-Muslims and ex-Muslims tend to focus on the negative achievements of Islam, such as Islamic mistreatment of women and unbelievers. However, we should realize that in its essence, Islam is only secondarily an ethical system with a characteristic record of conduct. In the first place it is a belief system, a truth claim. The Islamic religion stands or falls with the truth or untruth of two assertions: (1) there is no God but Allah, the Creator of the universe; and (2) Mohammed is the final spokesman of Allah.

Summery:-
This article analyzes Muhammad's experience while he got revelations, the Quranic trance, comparing it with Yogic trance and where it faulted. It subjects supernatural visions to scientific psycho analysis and includes Herman Somers' diagnosis of Mohammed. The article explores the psyche of Mohammed.

Was There an Islamic "Genocide" of Hindus?

Link:http://koenraadelst.bharatvani.org/articles/irin/genocide.html
Author: Dr Koenraad Elst

Extract:-
"Genocide" means the intentional attempt to destroy an ethnic community, or by extension any community constituted by bonds of kinship, of common religion or ideology, of common socio-economic position, or of common race. The pure form is the complete extermination of every man, woman and child of the group. Hindus suffered such attempted extermination in East Bengal in 1971, when the Pakistani Army killed 1 to 3 million people, with Hindus as their most wanted target. When Mohammed bin Qasim conquered the lower Indus basin in 712 CE. Thus, in Multan, according to the Chach-Nama, "six thousand warriors were put to death, and all their relations and dependents were taken as slaves". This is why Rajput women committed mass suicide to save their honour in the face of the imminent entry of victorious Muslim armies, e.g. 8,000 women immolated themselves during Akbar's capture of Chittorgarh in 1568 (where this most enlightened ruler also killed 30,000 non-combatants).

Summary:-
The article discusses genocide of Hindus at the hands of Islamic armies in the past as well as during the post independance partition and during the creation of Bangladesh.

Books

Hindu Temples: What Happened to Them ? Volume 1

Link:http://voiceofdharma.org/books/htemples1/
Author: Ram Swarup, Sitaram Goel, Arun Shauri, Harsh Narian

Extract:-
The movement for the restoration of the Ramajanmabhumi Temple at Ayodhya has brought to the fore a suppressed chapter of India's history, namely, the large-scale destruction of Hindu temples by the Islamised invaders. Nor is this behaviour pattern a thing of the past. It persisted even after the Muslim rule was over. The Muslim revivalist movements in the nineteenth century, particularly in Bengal, tried to repeat, as far as they could, the performance of the medieval Muslim swordsmen and sultans. More recently, after the Islamic state of Pakistan was carved out, Hindus have been forced to leave their ancestral homes, en masse from its western wing and in a continuous stream of refugees from its eastern wing, now an independent Islamic state of Bangladesh that came into being with the help of India. Hindu temples and other cultural institutions have more or less disappeared from Pakistan, while they continue to be under constant attack in Bangladesh.

Summary:-
This book contains the details of destruction of Hindu temples during the Islamic rule of India and is mostly based on the Muslim chronicles of medeival period, in which these acts were portryed as a matter of Islamic pride. An important part of this volume is a list of 2000 Muslim monuments built on the sites and/or with the materials of Hindu temples added as an appendix.

Hindu Temples: What Happened to Them ? Volume 2

Link:http://voiceofdharma.org/books/htemples2/
Author: Sitaram Goel

Extract:-
The Marxist-Muslim combine launched a two-pronged campaign. On the one hand, they proclaimed that Muslims had destroyed no Hindu temples except those few which were stinking with hoarded wealth or had become centres of local rebellions, and that Islam as a religion was never involved in iconoclasm. On the other hand, they accused the Hindus of destroying any number of Buddhist, Jain and Animist shrines in the pre-Islamic days. As a student of India's history, ancient as well as medieval, I could see quite clearly that they were playing the Goebbelsian game of the Big Lie.

Summary:-
This book contains information on how the secular media diverted the Ayodhya issue through propaganda, by hiding Islamic iconoclasm which is acknowledged world wide. The Appendix carries the Questionnaire For the Marxist Professors, has been considerably expanded by inclusion of correspondence between Goel and Professor Romila Thapar, the doyen of Marxist historians.
